British's ethnocentric view of the First Australians end it up with extreme conflict.

The contention that occurred between the British and the aboriginals of Australia were primarily caused by ethnocentric perception between different cultures. The colonists from British and the First Australians are distinguished as two disparate communities that have comparison in lifestyles and cultural values. This comparison originated conflicts which influenced by the British ethnocentric view on the aboriginals. Eventually it caused unnecessary violence, death and warfare between two cultures.
Arising conflicts between aboriginals and British was started from the first confrontation. The aboriginal greeted them as friends and amused them excitements such as dancing. They were more than welcome to be close to each other. It was the first constructive meeting. However, at this point, natives were viewed as savages and as barbarians by British colonists. The first intuition of British to colonize the first Australians was they were artless and clumsy. Shelters, goods and their outfits were fundamentally unlike from British. These settlers believed that only untamed animals would live and behave this way the First Australians are surviving. Following western culture, British thought that it is common thing to colonize or seize other’s land would make their commonwealth stronger. Hence, the leader of British colonists, Phillip, determined to invade aboriginal culture. The British replaced all the native’s crops in to new breeding crops such as potatoes or corn. Damaging indigenous tribe’s food sources and fitting in with their new foods from their homeland, definitely shows how British disregarded the First Australian’s cultivations. They believed educated and polished people would eat and do what they were supposed to under any circumstances.
Actual conflict by British’s ethnocentric manner was the war declared by native’s wrath. The First Australians was enraged how British destroyed their land and nature without thinking of the real owner of this territory. The First Australians had no choice, but to go against the British in order to get back their resources and their lands which they rely on. However, this makes the conflict more intensify. British is being defensive from the natives, and natives were being offensive to get their property back. As a result, they both desires to fight against each other, a war declared. In British perspective, once they got threatened by the First Australians, they’re aiming for putting native’s unsophisticated race in to demolition. British carried out their ungentle manners such as massacring all the natives including children and women in order to eradicate whole lineage of aboriginal.
The contention that occurred between the British and the aboriginals of Australia were primarily caused by ethnocentric views between different cultures. The British’s ethnocentric views and their actual actions has verified damages the communication between two different cultures, which led to disgrace of being un-gentle. For general, this ethnocentrism would be judged with impartial which can’t be neutral whether British or the First Australians is right. One’s ethnocentrism caused massive pain to one another, and concluded with causing extreme conflict. Ethnocentrism is iniquitous.

Julius Caesar: Solo/Duet Performance Assessment

Act 2 Scene 2 65~108                                Duet with: Kenny Yoon

CAESAR                                                                    Total lines: 43 lines
Shall Caesar send a lie?                                            Decius: Kenny Yoon
Have I in conquest stretch'd mine arm so far,            Caesar: Je Kyun Yu
To be afraid to tell graybeards the truth?
Decius, go tell them Caesar will not come.

DECIUS BRUTUS
Most mighty Caesar, let me know some cause,
Lest I be laugh'd at when I tell them so.

CAESAR     The cause is in my will: I will not come;
That is enough to satisfy the senate.
    But for your private satisfaction,
Because I love you, I will let you know:
Calpurnia here, my wife, stays me at home:
She dreamt to-night she saw my statua,
Which, like a fountain with an hundred spouts,
Did run pure blood: and many lusty Romans
Came smiling, and did bathe their hands in it:
And these does she apply for warnings, and portents,
And evils imminent; and on her knee
Hath begg'd that I will stay at home to-day.

DECIUS BRUTUS
    This dream is all amiss interpreted;
It was a vision fair and fortunate:
Your statue spouting blood in many pipes,
In which so many smiling Romans bathed,
Signifies that from you great Rome shall suck
Reviving blood, and that great men shall press
For tinctures, stains, relics and cognizance.
This by Calpurnia's dream is signified.

CAESAR
And this way have you well expounded it.

DECIUS BRUTUS
I have, when you have heard what I can say:
And know it now: the senate have concluded
To give this day a crown to mighty Caesar.
If you shall send them word you will not come,
Their minds may change. Besides, it were a mock
Apt to be render'd, for some one to say
'Break up the senate till another time,
When Caesar's wife shall meet with better dreams.'
If Caesar hide himself, shall they not whisper
    'Lo, Caesar is afraid'?
Pardon me, Caesar; for my dear dear love
    To our proceeding bids me tell you this;
And reason to my love is liable.

CAESAR
How foolish do your fears seem now, Calpurnia!
I am ashamed I did yield to them.
Give me my robe, for I will go.

Context: Decius has entered Caesar's house to take him senated with him. It is the Ides of March, Decius is tempting to persuade Caesar to go Senate while Caesar is still suspicious about whether going to Senate or not.

Significance of this passage: This is the one of the significance passage where Decius Brutus has entered Caesar's house to persuade Caesar to go Senate with him. However, Calpurnia refused Caesar to go Senate with Decius, because she is very suspicious about her dream of last night which foreshadows Caesar's death, and it's the Ides of March. Decius, the intelligent person has interpreted Calpurnia's dream in a different way which make Caesar flattered. This is the part where Caesar has divided in to public self and private self, which he has options to choose his own fate. Ides of March set the mood very tension and forms apprehension. Once you read or watch this part of passage or video, will have anxious mood to start with, and then regretful toward Caesar once he ruined his life raising his option to go Senate with Decius. Yet, there are anxiety moods in this passage, audience wants to know more about what will happens next, the culmination from this act is the majority of this act.

Learning Profile (M)

Most of people think that brain is the part of our body what we learn with, however, more specific answer would be other parts of the body supply the raw information what brain needs. Brain can't learn all by itself. The eyes, ears, hands, and feet are also learning organs; these are exquisitely adapted sensor which brings brain sensation in order to make brain right decisions. All of our body components are important contributors. In other hand, we're not using our same part of bodies' learning contributors. We are not all the same kind of learners. Our body parts favor one of those pairs of learning organs. For example, some people could learn with left hand rather than right hand, left ear rather than right ear. Also when the sensation from the body part that we prefer to use, only one brain hemisphere are active than the other. Prefer using one side of our body part is called lateral dominance.

During our humanities class, we had chosen to be tested in our learning organs. Through varieties of exercises to determine our dominant body parts in order to find learning profile. After testing our learning organs, we were being able to find out what kind of thinker, logic or gestalt.  Logical thinker is a learner who uses left side of learning organs, and gestalt thinker uses right side of learning organs. In my circumstances, all of my learning organs were focused in left side, when my right hemisphere of brain is dominant. According to my accurate test results, my learning profile was profile M. After that, we got a separate sheet of paper that we can investigate interesting facts about our profiles. In my opinion, understanding characteristics that is shown in a separated sheet of paper which represent my learning profile, could help me to know my strengths preferences and areas that need to improve.

Consequently, as a profile a learner, I learn best through movement and focusing on the whole picture, context and emotional relevance to self. This is very accurate result that I could believe, because I could feel physically and emotionally expressive. Also an emotion that is relevant to me who could focus on the whole picture, and context. Emotion that is formed by movements could help me improve on discrimination making right decisions. For example, math problems that is very natural for Koreans, they automatically solve hundreds of same problems in order to not forget other problems with same methods. They are 'Learning kinesthetically', needing to move (especially the hands) to process new learning. Same to me, I learn best when I'm 'Learning kinesthetically' expressing my physical and emotional skills preparing for my new learning.

Being a kinesthetically learner, I need to be able to see, hear, move and/or verbalize the whole context before learning the details. These are the sensors from my learning organs, which could shows that I need to be physically improved. I think I'm being very kinesthetic, I can't verbalize the whole context, I should be improve to learn more details, rather than just realizing the whole picture of context. The separate paper also shows me that I may have difficulties with penmanship. Benefits from fine-motor, hand-eye coordination play and work. Being physically improved, I need to get along with my penmanship. Penmanship could bring me improvements of hand and eye coordination. I could learn more enthusiastically when my eyes and hands cooperate very well.

The strategies that would help me in my learning is that I often highly intuitive and prefers to process that way. In humanities class, we are learning about literary terms which were hided in the play called 'Julius Caesar'. I prefer to process appreciating metaphors, examples and associations when analyzing Julius Caesar, improving my learning skills. Listening and interpreting for the intention and emotion of the person or information that is provided from Julius Caesar is also a strategy that would help me in my learning skills. Most importantly, the strategies that deteriorate stress could develop my learning. Movements tend to be spontaneous and fluid freely, and when capacity exhibits good techniques (like a specific dance step) may deteriorate under stress. Without stress, my learning circumstances would be perfect for me to improve.

Things that I would like my teachers to know this about me is I have possible difficulties with reading or writing languages that move from left to right like English (According to separate sheet of paper Profile M). This is happening because my left eye scans from right to left, which makes English a lot harder than other people. This may reverse or transpose letters and numbers. Difficulties following step-by-steps instructions tend to start by imagining the end results and then intuitively doing what seems appropriate. This is really taking risks, because same learner as me would be hard to follow instructions when they think that doesn't work it out.

As a conclusion, our humanities class is spending one whole period to figuring out what sort of learner that we are. How the results seems accurate, and writing this self-evaluation in order to know our selves and put efforts in order to improve from those weaknesses that we have. The profile helps me where can I get improvements, and how I expressive in some parts, and how am I different from other learners. This learning profile is very expedient method to gain suggestions to focus on our sensation being great learner.
